During this phase, FADECO established the FADECO Trading Company, which focused on processing and marketing dried fruits. Despite early success, the introduction of Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) regulations created barriers for small enterprises, leading to operational setbacks. Nevertheless, FADECO’s innovation in food security earned national recognition “Mwenge wa Uhuru” (Torch of Freedom) honored the organization for its contributions to fruit processing, packaging, and food security.
