Community Radio Broadcasting (FADECO Community Radio - FRC 100.8 FM)

Located in the far northwest of Tanzania, it serves to provide vital development information to rural farmers and others shielded from mainstream media. It provides a platform for information sharing, awareness raising in vital issues including : health (basic primary health care), environmental conservation (climate change mitigation, climate smart agriculture) sustainable agriculture, education, civic and human rights, rights of marginalized communities: persons with disabilities, elderly, youths, children and women. Integrating with modern information communication technologies, it provides a platform when persons interact to exchange pertinent information that concerns them like: tradition, history and cultures; peace building and conflict resolutions, income generating opportunities, etc.

Sustainable Smart Agriculture & AgriTech Solutions

FADECO is at the forefront of promoting sustainable smart agriculture through the integration of modern AgriTech solutions. Our approach combines traditional farming practices with cutting-edge technologies to optimize productivity, reduce environmental impact, and enhance resilience to climate change. We provide farmers with tools like smart irrigation systems, precision farming technologies, mobile apps for pest and disease management, and real-time weather forecasting. These innovations help farmers make data-driven decisions, maximize crop yields, and conserve resources. By focusing on sustainable practices such as climate-smart agriculture, efficient resource management, and the use of organic techniques, FADECO BioCrops ensures that farming remains productive, environmentally responsible, and economically viable for future generations.

Appropriate Technology & Innovation Hub (FADECO Eden Centre for Appropriate Technology)

The Eden centre for appropriate technology is a dream come true for Karagwe communities. Established in 2007, the centre has a goal of promoting appropriate rural technologies and land rehabilitation through demonstrations, by availing information resources and community empowerment. Among the many technologies at the centre include a hub for information and communication technologies (ICTs), renewable energy technologies like solar drying, solar energy, wind energy, water harvesting, zero grazing, piggery, bio-fuel trials and innovative farming technologies.

Climate Education & Awareness

FADECO is committed to educating and empowering communities to tackle climate change through hands-on training and practical solutions. Our programs raise awareness about climate issues and provide communities with the knowledge and skills to implement sustainable practices in agriculture, energy, and environmental conservation.
